Athletes from St. Bede, Marquette, Henry-Midland, Bureau Valley, Amboy and Earlville qualified for state out of the Class 1A Bureau Valley Sectional on Wednesday.

Sterling won the Class 2A Rochelle Sectional despite not having an individual champ, Mendota and Genoa-Kingston both had individual freshman champions, Sycamore had a surprise pole vault champ and Sandwich's Sunny Weber kept up her domination.
