Lisa Sons, an Illinois Department of Natural Resource coordinator and University of Illinois Extension master naturalist, will present the program “Fall Bird Migration and Winter Feeding” 6 p.m. Nov. 10 in a virtual event hosted by La Salle Public Library.

Sons will explore the following questions about migratory birds:

• What types of birds migrate in the fall?

• How far do they travel?

• Why do they migrate?

• What species of birds stay all year-round?

• What types of food should be put out for our winter backyard feathered friends?

At the end of the presentation, Sons will answer audience questions using a live chat.

This program is free and open to the public, but those who are interested should register at For information, email Rachael Blomquist, digital content librarian, at or call the library at 815-223-2341.
