Roundup: L-P's Ryan Hartman takes third at I8 meet

La Salle-Peru junior Ryan Hartman ran a 17:05 on Saturday to place third individually at the Interstate Eight Conference Meet in Sycamore.

Hartman’s performance helped the Cavaliers place fifth as a team with 134 points. Kaneland won with 30.

Matt Beard took 30 in 18:36 for L-P.

In the girls race, Brianna Pijanowski paced the Lady Cavaliers as she finished 22nd in 23:13.

L-P placed seventh with 164 points. Kaneland won with 33.

At Kingston

Alayna Nosalik paced the Mendota girls at the Big Northern Conference Meet as she finished 50 in 23:14.

The Lady Trojans didn’t have enough runners for a team score.

In the boys race Friday, the Trojans placed sixth with 165 points. Rockford Christian won with 25.

Mendota had a strong pack with Andrew Stamberger (18:03), Ty Connelly (18:04), Trent Stamberger (18:08) and Alex Hermosillo (18:13) placing 29-32.

At Seneca

Henry-Midland’s Nakeita Kessling (22:38) and Hope Self (22:52) placed third and fourth, respectively, on Saturday.

The Lady Timberducks didn’t have enough runners for a team score.

In the boys race, Eric Garrison took 14th in 20:33 as Henry-Midland finished fifth with 97 points. Seneca won with 27.

Joey Twardowski paced Putnam County as he finished 12th in 20:12. PC didn’t have enough runners for a team score.
