Roundup: L-P's Ryan Hartman runs to victory at Baker Lake

La Salle-Peru’s Ryan Hartman ran a 16:27 to claim the individual title by more than a minute in a triangular Thursday at Baker Lake in Peru.

The Cavaliers finished second with 43 points. Seneca won with 23 and St. Bede was third with 62.

Avery Lueck (seventh, 18:51), Cooper Vaske (eighth, 18:58) and Matt Beard (10th, 19:15) also placed top 10 for L-P.

Logan Griggs paced the Bruins as he placed 12th in 19:37.

In the girls race, the Lady Cavaliers finished second with 50 points. Seneca won with 19 and St. Bede was third with 68.

Brianna Pijanowski (22:02) and Mallely Ontiveros (22:56) placed sixth and seventh, respectively, to lead L-P.

St. Bede’s Brady Mudge placed fourth in 21:34.

At Amboy

Brock Loftus ran a 16:11 to win individually and lead the Amboy co-op to a victory in a Northwest Upstate Illini Conference quadrangular.

The Clippers beat Aquin, Galena and Polo to finish 10-1 on the season.

Kyler McNinch (third, 17:11), Andruw Jones (seventh, 18:19) and Wyatt Lundquist (eighth, 18:23) also placed top 10 for Amboy.

In the girls race, Lauren Althaus ran a 21:01 to win individually and help the Lady Clippers to a victory.

Madelyn McLaughlin (fourth, 22:01), Brittney Mundell (seventh, 22:55) and Brooklyn Whelchel (10th, 24:27) also finished top 10 for Amboy.

At Peoria

Fieldcrest’s Mason Stoeger ran a 16:29 at Detweiller Park to place seventh in the Heart of Illinois Conference Meet.

Christian Skaggs finished 16th in 17:11 as the Knights took fourth as a team.

In the girls race, Clare Phillips was Fieldcrest’s top finisher as she placed 39 in 23:55.

Fieldcrest took seventh.
