Roundup: St. Bede girls golf wins triangular

Ally Mendoza shot a 41 on Monday to earn medalist honors and lead the St. Bede girls golf team to a victory in a Three Rivers Conference triangular at Wyaton Hills Golf Course in Princeton.

The Lady Bruins carded a 184 to beat Princeton (222) and Orion (263).

Also scoring for St. Bede were Gianna Grivetti (45), Payge Pyszka (49) and Ava Manicki (49).

Olivia Eiken led the Tigresses with a 51 followed by Ashton Willson (53), Brynn Hieronymus (54) and Jacklynn Cartwright (64).

Sandwich 214, La Salle-Peru 228

Grace Antle carded a season-low 48 on Monday as the Lady Cavaliers fell in an Interstate Eight Conference match at Senica’s Oak Ridge Golf Club in La Salle.

Earlville 223, Somonauk 257

Kaydence Harp shot a 50 on Monday to help the Lady Red Raiders to a Little Ten Conference victory at Earlville Country Club in Earlville.

Lexie Campbell carded a 50, Bella Harp had a 55 and Avery Strohm added a 69 for Earlville.


At Mendota

St. Bede boys runners took the first four places Monday to lead the Bruins to a triangular victory.

The Bruins tallied 24 points to beat Mendota (35) and Genoa-Kingston (66).

Miguel Jones led St. Bede by finishing in 19:02 followed by Daniel Dugosh (19:26), Logan Griggs (19:35) and James Sanchez (20:16).

Andrew Stamberger led the Trojans by placing fifth in 20:16.

In the girls race, St. Bede’s Brady Mudge won the individual title in 22:46.

G-K won with 24 points followed by St. Bede (52) and Mendota (56).

Jamie Dooley placed fifth in 25:05 to lead the Lady Trojans.


Earlville 173, Somonauk 183

Jared Pickert and Jeremy Weymouth each fired a 39 on Monday to lead the Red Raiders to their first victory of the season in a Little Ten Conference match at Earlville Country Club in Earlville.

Connor Cook had a 45 and Rocco Morsovillo added a 50 for Earlvlle.

At Byron

Ethan Hanaman and Jack Beetz each shot a 46 on Monday as Mendota finished second in a Big Northern Conference triangular at Prairie View Golf Club.

The Trojans carded a 191 to finish ahead of Rock Falls (231) but behind Byron (176).

Seneca 173, Henry 232

Brady Neuhalfen carded a 48 on Monday as the Mallards fell in a Tri-County Conference match.


Coal City 4, Mendota 1

Natalie Orozco and Lizzy Bresley won 7-5, 6-2 at No. 3 doubles as the Lady Trojans fell Monday in Mendota.
