La Salle County coronavirus update: 23 removed from isolation, 10 new cases

Ten new COVID-19 cases and 23 individuals who previously tested positive for the virus were removed from isolation, according to information shared Tuesday by the La Salle County Health Department.

There are 523 active cases of the virus in La Salle County.

A teenage boy, a man in his 20s, a woman in her 20s, two men in their 30s, a man in his 50s, three women in their 50s and a man in his 60s were the latest individuals to test positive for the virus.

There have been 1,522 confirmed cases of COVID-19 countywide since the beginning of the pandemic out of 26,914 tests, for a positivity rate of 5.7%. Of those 1,522 who tested positive, 945 have been removed from isolation and 54 individuals have died from complication related to the virus.

The Illinois Department of Public Health's ZIP code data has been updated as follows (these numbers sometimes lag behind the county reports and are adjusted as more information becomes available) from Monday's report:

• Streator had three more confirmed cases, increasing its total to 339 cases since the beginning of the pandemic.

• Mendota had three additional cases, increasing its total to 252.

• La Salle had two additional cases, increasing its total to 134.

• Marseilles had two additional cases, increasing its total to 99.

• Ottawa had an additional case, increasing its total to 273.

• Peru had an additional case, increasing its total to 110.

• Oglesby had an additional case, increasing its total to 58.

• Sheridan remains at 48 cases.

• Utica remains at 33 cases.

• Somonauk, which also is in DeKalb County, remains at 31 cases.

• Seneca remains at 25 cases.

• Grand Ridge remained at 23 cases.

• Earlville remains at 22 cases.

• Leland remains at 18 cases.

• Wenona, which is mostly in Marshall County, remains at 16 cases.

• Tonica remains at 12 cases.

• Lostant remains at eight cases.
