A man in his 20s from Bureau County has tested positive for COVID-19.
Public health officials from the Bureau, Putnam, Marshall County Health Department were notified of the positive test, according to state and local public health protocols.
Public health officials are in the beginning stages of the investigation and are working to identify individuals who were in contact with the man. Federal privacy restrictions prohibit the release of any additional information regarding this case. No further information regarding the investigation is available at this time.
Laurie Geuther, communicable disease nurse at the Bureau, Putnam, Marshall County Health Department, confirmed on Monday there are three active COVID-19 cases in Marshall County and two active cases in Bureau County.
There have now been 34 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the counties served by the Bureau, Putnam and Marshall County Health Department. Bureau County has had 25 confirmed cases. Marshall County has had eight confirmed cases. Putnam County has had one confirmed case. The first case was reported in Marshall County on March 23.
