Mayor: We have noticed people too close together
Early this week, Peru had squad cars at the east and west parking lots at Baker Lake to remind people to observe social distancing measures.
To further monitor whether residents are staying apart to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), Peru police's all-terrain police vehicle was patrolling the parkland and mile-round walking path starting Wednesday.
Peru Mayor Scott Harl and police chief Doug Bernabei say they want to keep the parks open for people who want to walk and fish alone. All benches, shelters and playground equipment are off-limits.
