La Salle city council members left Monday’s meeting smiling.
“Late this afternoon, I found out that a grant that Brian (Brown) and I applied for $500,000 for the sewer separation project through the CDBG grant — we were awarded the $500,000,” said Katherine Koyak, city economic development director about her and city engineer Brian Brown.
The money comes from the Community Development Block Grant program through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
La Salle will contribute $279,220 toward this grant to separate storm and sanitary sewer lines from a combined system on the east side of town.
