ROUNDUP: Winn leads LaMoille-Ohio past Amboy

Marcus Winn exploded for 26 points and dished out six assists Tuesday to lead the LaMoille-Ohio boys basketball team to a 76-42 rout of Amboy in the Ashton-Franklin Center Thanksgiving Tournament.

Chasen Cherry contributed a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Lions.

Henry 44, United 41

The Mallards outscored the Red Storm 18-10 in the fourth quarter to pull out a victory at the Williamsfield Thanksgiving Tournament on Tuesday.

Griffin Self led Henry with 16 points, while John Rediger added 15 points.

Flanagan-Cornell 55, St. Bede 47

The Bruins fell in the Route 17 Thanksgiving Classic on Tuesday.

Momence 40, Earlville 39

Landon Larkin scored 14 points as the Red Raiders came up just short in the Route 17 Thanksgiving Classic on Tuesday.

At Kewanee

Putnam County and Bureau Valley both lost Tuesday in the Wally Keller Invitational.

The Panthers lost to the host Flying Geese 57-47, while the Storm fell 52-47 to Elmwood. Dalton Dean scored 23 points for BV.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Putnam County 27, Somonauk 21

Sophia Harris scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds Tuesday to lead the Lady Panthers to a non-conference victory in Somonauk.

Fieldcrest 59, Roanoke-Benson 43

The Knights drained 10 3-pointers en route to a non-conference victory Tuesday in Minonk.

Alyx Carls led four Fieldcrest players in double figures with 16 points. Ashlyn May scored 13 points, Hannah Baker had 11 points and Ella Goodrich added 10 points for Fieldcrest (5-0).

Sherrard 53, La Salle-Peru 31

Rhiannon Skoog scored 12 points as the Lady Cavaliers dropped a Geneseo Thanksgiving Tournament game at L-P.

LaMoille-Ohio 48, DePue 15

Kylee Brown scored 16 points Tuesday to lead the Lady Lions to a non-conference victory in LaMoille.

Ki’Ayana Moore added 12 points and 10 rebounds for L-O.

Summer Hayes led the Lady Giants with six points.

Amboy 71, Mendota 45

Amellia Bromenschenkel scored 26 points — surpassing her sister Ally for fifth all-time on Mendota’s career scoring list — to go along with 12 rebounds, four steals and four assists as the Lady Trojans fell in a non-conference game Tuesday in Amboy.

Anna Bokus added nine points for MHS (5-2).

WRESTLING

At Princeton

St. Bede went 1-2 on Tuesday in Princeton.

The Bruins beat the host Tigers 54-17 behind pins from Ethan Fleming, Nick Lough, Peter Sampson, Brady Hurst, Noah Setser and Beau Bonnell.

St. Bede lost 62-12 to Tremont an 38-33 against Peoria Notre Dame.

Lough won by pin against Tremont and won by decision against PND.

At Amboy

Mendota dropped a pair of matches to Seneca and Amboy on Tuesday.
