FIRST TEAM

Kaitlyn Gibson, La Salle-Peru

Year: Sophomore

Position: Infielder

Season highlights: Gibson was an offensive powerhouse. She led the area in RBIs (60), tied for the lead in homers (7) and was top 10 in average (.514), runs (29), doubles (10) and steals (11). She was an Illinois Coaches Association Class 3A Second-Team All State pick.

Hanah Hart, Hall

Year: Junior

Position: Outfielder

Season highlights: An injury limited her at-bats but she made the most of what she got. Hart finished second in the area in batting average (.544) and RBIs (33) and was third in runs (30) and home runs (6). She was Illinois Coaches Association Class 2A Second-Team All State.

Abbie May, St. Bede

Year: Senior

Position: Pitcher

Season highlights: The NT Softball Player of the Year led the area in ERA (1.43), wins (13) and strikeouts (212) as she led SBA to a third-place finish in Class 1A. May, who drove in 15 runs, was voted Illinois Coaches Association Class 1A Third-Team All State.

Jenna O'Donnell, Mendota

Year: Sophomore

Position: Infielder

Season highlights: O’Donnell provided power and speed for the Lady Trojans. She led the area in doubles (13), was top 10 in home runs (3) and second in steals (24) while also ranking top 10 in batting average (.483) and driving in 22 runs. She helped MHS to a regional title.

Maddy Pangrcic, La Salle-Peru

Year: Freshman

Position: Utility

Season highlights: Pangrcic made an immediate impact. She led the area with a .578 batting average, tied for the area lead in doubles (13) and also ranked in the top 10 in RBIs (32), runs (25) and home runs (5). She was All-Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference West Division.

Sara Perkins, Hall

Year: Senior

Position: Infielder

Season highlights: Perkins was one of the area’s top offensive threats as she ranked top 10 in batting average (.472), RBIs (31), runs (33) and doubles (9) and was the area leader in triples with five. She was voted Illinois Coaches Association Class 2A Third-Team All State.

Aubrie Roda, La Salle-Peru

Year: Senior

Position: Catcher

Season highlights: Roda was the area’s top offensive catcher. She ranked top 10 in the area in RBIs (27) and home runs (3), which all came on one day. She hit .366 with 14 runs, seven doubles and a triple. Roda helped L-P reach a regional final.

Brooke Shirley, La Salle-Peru

Year: Junior

Position: Outfielder

Season highlights: Shirley played multiple positions for L-P but ended up taking over in left field. She ranked top 10 in the area in average (.452), RBIs (26) and doubles (8). Shirley also scored 21 runs and smacked a pair of home runs as she helped L-P to 19 wins.

Maggie Sons, St. Bede

Year: Senior

Position: Infielder

Season highlights: Sons played a critical role in St. Bede’s run to a third-place finish in Class 1A. She led the area in steals (25) and ranked sixth in average (.476). Sons, who had 24 runs and seven doubles, was Illinois Coaches Association Class 1A Second-Team All State.

Alaina Tjaden, Fieldcrest

Year: Senior

Position: Outfielder

Season highlights: Tjaden was one of the area’s top offensive threats in the outfield. She ranked top 10 in the area in average (.493) and doubles (10). Tjaden scored 22 runs, drove in 12 runs and hit two home runs. She was unanimous All-Heart of Illinois Conference.

Alivia Tjaden, Fieldcrest

Year: Senior

Position: Pitcher

Season highlights: Tjaden was a force in the circle. She ranked third in the area in ERA (2.01) and second in strikeouts (141) while compiling an 8-7 record. Offensively, she hit .301 with 16 RBIs and 11 runs. She was Second-Team All-Heart of Illinois Conference.

SECOND TEAM

Alex Barrera, Mendota

Year: Senior

Position: Outfielder

Season highlights: Barrera was a strong top of the order hitter as she hit .354 and ranked top 10 in the area in runs (27), steals (14) and home runs (3). The centerfielder also had 19 RBIs and three doubles as she helped MHS to a regional title.

Katie Bates, Princeton

Year: Freshman

Position: Pitcher

Season highlights: Bates played a key role in Princeton’s first ever regional title. She ranked third in the area in wins (9-9) and strikeouts (133) and was fourth in ERA (2.04). She was First-Team All-Three Rivers Conference East Division.

Brooke Bianchi, Hall

Year: Senior

Position: Catcher

Season highlights: Bianchi was a solid offensive weapon for the Lady Red Devils in her final prep season. She hit .322, scored 11 runs and was ranked top 10 in the RBIs with 24. Bianchi had 28 hits and only struck out 10 times in 87 at-bats.

Emma Boatman, Mendota

Year: Senior

Position: Infielder

Season highlights: The first baseman provided some pop for the Lady Trojans as she was third in the area in doubles (11) and was top 10 in home runs (3). Boatman hit .442 with 22 RBIs and 15 runs to help MHS to a second straight regional title.

Skyler Brue, Earlville-Leland

Year: Senior

Position: Infielder

Season highlights: Brue was solid offensively and defensively. She hit .432 and ranked top 10 in the area in runs (30), home runs (3), triples (3) and steals (15). The unanimous All-Little Ten Conference pick also had 20 RBIs.

Gianna Elias, St. Bede

Year: Senior

Position: Utility

Season highlights: Elias played multiple positions for the Lady Bruins while providing a solid middle of the order bat. She hit .373 with 19 RBIs, 17 runs, six doubles and four home runs, including a shot in the state semifinals.

McKenzie Hecht, Princeton

Year: Freshman

Position: Infielder

Season highlights: The third baseman brought power to Princeton’s lineup. She tied for the area lead in home runs (7) and also ranked top 10 in RBIs (32), runs (25) and triples (2). Hecht, who hit .344, helped PHS to a regional title.

Kennedy Meloy, Earlville-Leland

Year: Senior

Position: Pitcher

Season highlights: Meloy was consistent in the circle for the Lady Red Raiders. She ranked second in the area with an 11-3 record and ranked fourth in ERA (2.04) and strikeouts (84). She was unanimous All-Little Ten Conference.

Hannah Muehlschlegel, Princeton

Year: Freshman

Position: Outfielder

Season highlights: Muehlschlegel was a strong threat near the top of the PHS lineup. She ranked top 10 in runs (25), doubles (8) and steals. The First-Team All-Three Rivers Conference East Division pick hit .415 with 12 RBIs.

Mary Claire Tomminello, La Salle-Peru

Year: Senior

Position: Infielder

Season highlights: Nobody got around the bases better than Tomminello as she led the area with 38 runs. She also ranked third in steals (24) along with having a .388 batting average, 18 RBIs, five doubles and two home runs.

Josie Walter, La Salle-Peru

Year: Senior

Position: Outfielder

Season highlights: Walter was a strong run producer as she ranked top 10 in the area in RBIs (25) and runs (27). She was top 10 in steals (12) and also had a .411 batting average, five doubles and a home run.
