Former Putnam County boys basketball coach Josh Nauman has been hired as the IVC women’s basketball coach.

“I’m thrilled about it,” Nauman said. “I’ve always wanted to coach at the highest level possible. After coaching 21 years in high school, to get a job as a college head coach is exciting.”

Nauman takes over for Tom Ptak, who led the Eagles to an 81-92 record in six seasons. Ptak was twice named Arrowhead Conference Coach of the Year.

Nauman went 141-69 in seven seasons leading Putnam County. He guided the Panthers to four 20-win seasons, four Tri-County Conference titles and two regional championships.

Nauman was an assistant coach for the IVCC men’s basketball team for the last two seasons.
