Patricia G. Welbers, 85, of rural Spring Valley died at 11:34 p.m. Oct. 23. 2009.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Anthony Church, Spring Valley. The Revs. Robert Spilman and Harold Datzman, O.S.B., will officiate. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Park, Spring Valley.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until the time of services Wednesday in the funeral home. A prayer service will be at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Welbers was born April 6, 1924, in DePue to Frank and Emmerence (Johnson) Garrett. She married William Welbers on Nov. 20, 1948, in St. Mary Catholic Church, DePue.
She graduated as valedictorian of DePue High School in 1942.
She worked at Green River Ordnance Plant during World War II and American Nickeloid.
She was owner of Orbit Transport Inc. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Survivors include one son, Barry (Beth) Welbers of rural Spring Valley; one daughter, Lori (Jerry Stocking) Stanton of rural Spring Valley; three grandsons, Bob Stanton and Bill Grosenbach of Spring Valley and Ryan Welbers of rural Spring Valley; and eight granddaughters, Aubrey Welbers of Chicago and Lindsay Welbers, Megan Welbers, Stephanie Stocking, Natalie Stocking, Erica Stocking, Samantha Stocking and Kristie Stocking of rural Spring Valley.
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 4, 1980; one brother, Robert G. Garrett; and two sisters, Martha Jean Siska and Virginia G. Urbanski.
