Bertha Surdu, 91, of Brownstown, Mich., formerly of Mark, died at 9:15 a.m. Oct. 22, 2009, in Oakwood South Shore Hospital, Trenton, Mich.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sacred Heart Church, Granville. The Rev. Patrick DeMeulemeester will officiate. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Granville.
Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Helmer-Shields Funeral Home, Granville.
Mrs. Surdu was born Jan. 6, 1918, in Mark to John and Pia (Marcacci) Serafini. She married George Surdu in 1939 in Sacred Heart Church, Granville.
She attended Mark Grade School and graduated from Hopkins High School in Granville. She was a housewife.
Survivors are three sons, Frank (Marilyn) Surdu of Charleston, W.Va., Arthur (Catherine) Surdu of Canton, Mich., and George (Margaret) Surdu Jr. of Novi, Mich.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Celia (Frank) Amico of Madison Heights, Mich.; and one brother, John (Violet) Serafini of Oglesby.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2006, one sister, four brothers and one granddaughter.
