TISKILWA — One person was injured this morning when what is described as an explosion leveled a home on Hunger World Farm.
Tiskilwa fire was called to the scene around 9 a.m. Friday at 19183 Plow Creek Road for the reported fire. Bureau and Princeton fire departments were dispatched for mutual aid.
A man was cooking in a two-story home on the property when the apparent explosion occurred. His injuries were described by authorities as "minor burns."
A Bureau County Sheriff's deputy on scene said the building did appear to have suffered damage from an explosion, but it was unclear at this time if it was gas related. Firefighters were working on extinguishing the structure's remains and the fire was under control by about 9:45 a.m.
The structure is on property owned by the Hungry World Farm, which bought the former Plow Creek Fellowship property in 2017.
