Fundraising and snacking isn’t a problem for (from left) Ted Landgraf, Logan Brandner and Aaron Brander during the Relay for Life of Upper Illinois Valley Textathon. About a dozen teens gathered Sunday at St. John’s Lutheran Church to help Relay for Life of the Upper Illinois Valley reach the $1 million mark as part of the 10th anniversary of the event. Money raised by the teens, along with that raised by other teams will help provide care and services to current cancer patients and fund research. The events are part of the American Cancer Society. The 10th anniversary event will be July 13 at Lake Mendota. The teens raised more than $4,600 on Sunday and the textline is still open until midnight Monday for donations as they try to meet their goal of $5,000.
