TISKILWA — Tiskilwa Historical Society will host a Native American program followed by a picnic at 4 p.m. Sunday. The society will present the Rev. Dan Lybarger, a Methodist minister with a knack for sharing the legends and music of his Cherokee heritage. His presentation will be in the community room upstairs at the museum, followed by a picnic under the shade trees on the lawn of the Museum on Main.
The program will be at the Tiskilwa public library in the event of inclement weather.
At 5 p.m. board members will begin serving a picnic supper to celebrate the Tiskilwa Historical Society’s 13th birthday. The menu will feature all-beef hot dogs, baked beans, chips, lemonade and ice cream. A free-will offering will be accepted to defray the cost of the picnic spread.
