A Streator man’s attire captured the attention of Illinois Conservation Police and then he fled into a restricted area, leading to his eviction from the park.

Robert McIntyre, 57, of 3511 Cleveland St., Streator on Aug. 8 was cited for entering a restricted area and also was evicted from Matthiessen State Park for 90 days, according to Conservation Police.

McIntyre was wearing only a G-string when he was spotted by Conservation Police in the state park River Area (locally known as Frisbee Land). However, he saw the police, dropped a spotting scope or binoculars and then ran into an area marked “not a trail,” said Sgt. Phil Wire of the Conservation Police.

Wire said the G-string is not illegal, but also “not something we want in our parks.” He said McIntyre also was banned from the park four years ago (Aug. 1, 2015) after an incident.
