Ottawa Township High School Education Association will hold a strike rally today to garner community support for their position on insurance and benefits.

OTHSEA union president Glenn Weatherford said the strike is meant to educate the community on their position.

"We want to show the community we're doing the right thing," Weatherford said.

The strike began Sept. 30 over teachers and the school board being unable to reach an agreement on a contract renewal. The 1,500-student school has 113 teachers. Teachers currently do not contribute to their insurance benefits.
