OTTAWA - After negotiations between Ottawa Township High School teachers and the school board failed shortly after midnight early Friday morning, members of the teachers' negotiation team remained behind in the school building.
Friday was Day 3 of the strike in Ottawa.
OTHS Education Association president Glenn Weatherford said the group spent the night in the school at-tempting to bring the board back to the negotiation table.
"They just stayed over night, saying, ‘We're not going to leave,'" Weatherford said.
Sometime the next morning, Weatherford said, OTHS superintendent John Harrison asked the faculty members to leave the building, which they did.
As of 5 p.m. Friday, no negotiation session was scheduled, Weatherford said.
