OTTAWA — The Habitat for Humanity Hawaiian Luau will go on as scheduled but has been relocated to the historic Ottawa Boat Club, 500 Columbus St., near the confluence of the Fox and Illinois rivers. Area Habitat director Sally Van Cura said the event originally was scheduled for an outdoor venue, a pier at Heritage Harbor, but they’ve rescheduled it to provide an indoor venue due to rain in the forecast.
“Come enjoy this historic landmark in Ottawa, while still being on the waterfront. Outside porches are additionally offered if weather permits,” according to a press release from Habitat for Humanity of La Salle, Bureau and Putnam Counties.
“Don’t forget to come on out and enjoy a Saturday afternoon ... live Hawaiian Dancers, music, drinks, fantastic food provided by Heritage Harbor, games — all while benefiting our new Habitat home build.”
The luau will be 2-5 p.m. Live entertainment and music starts at 3 p.m. featuring live Hawaiian performances and drinks, appetizers, silent auctions, games and fun. Tickets are $45 at the door or at www.tickettailor.com. For more information, call Van Cura at (630) 502-9400.
