MENDOTA — Mendota police chief Greg Kellen said Wednesday he expects to issue a press release later today about reports of shootings and threats made in Mendota last week. He said he was waiting on information from an out-of-state agency before he could complete the press release. Until then, he also declined to say which of several incidents would be addressed.

William Barr, 31, of 1110 E. Wilson St., Streator was picked up at 6:04 p.m. Tuesday at 9 Northpoint Drive, Streator on a La Salle County warrant for driving while license revoked, according to La Salle County Sheriff’s Office.

Shae Hunter, 21, of 211 S. Fourth Ave. Apt. 10, Streator was picked up at 9:51 p.m. Tuesday at her residence on a La Salle County warrant for failure to appear for a sentencing hearing on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, according to La Salle County Sheriff’s Office. She is being held without bond.

OTTAWA — An Ottawa man faces two counts of sexual exploitation of a child for exposing his sex organs to a person under the age of 17, according to the Ottawa Police Department.

Ottawa police were sent to the 700 block of East McKinley Road at about 10:30 p.m. Aug. 6 after a man allegedly “exposed his sex organs to two juvenile girls for the purpose of sexual arousal or gratification,” police said.

“Police obtained statements from the girls and developed Bradley E. Weaver, 58, of 1413 Dakota Drive, Unit C as a suspect. Ottawa police continued the investigation the next day and other potential witnesses in the area were also interviewed. The information was transferred to the La Salle County State’s Attorney’s Office,” police said. On Tuesday, an arrest warrant was issued for Weaver and he was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon at his residence. Bond was set at $2,000; he needed to post $200 for release. The charges are Class A misdemeanors, according to Ottawa police.

Trini Morando, 48, of Chicago (no specific address given) was charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance (cocaine) following a buy-bust operation conducted at 1:35 p.m. Friday in the 3000 block of North Route 71 in Ottawa, the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Narcotics Team said in a report issued five days later.

Morando faces 6-30 years in prison if convicted of possessing 36 grams of purported cocaine, TRI-DENT said. Bond was set at $1 million.

Maria Vieyra, 30, 119 Osgood St., Joliet was charged with driving while suspended at 8:36 a.m. Monday at 212 W. Main St., Streator police said.

Tiffany Flanery, 23, 1401 N. Ottercreek St., Apt. 44, Streator was charged with failure to secure a child in an appropriate child restraint and driving while suspended at 11:09 a.m. Tuesday in an alley in the 600 block of Bridge Street, Streator police said.

Mark Wargo, 63, homeless was charged with criminal trespass at 11:51 a.m. Tuesday at Mann Food and Gas, 602 E. Main St., Streator police said.

STEWARD — Jeffrey Delong, 42, of Paw Paw was airlifted from a rural area near Steward following a four-wheeler accident reported at 7:22 p.m. Saturday. The Lee County Sheriff’s department responded to the area of Woodlawn and Reynolds roads where they located Delong under the four-wheeler. He was airlifted from the scene to St. Anthony’s Hospital, Rockford where the sheriff’s department reports he is in stable condition. Also responding were the Illinois State Police, Shabbona Ambulance and Lee Fire Department. The accident remains under investigation.
