PRINCETON - Church Women United of Princeton will sponsor the 2009 World Community Day at 5 p.m. Friday Nov. 6 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 443 E. Dover Road, Princeton. The meeting will begin with a light soup and sandwich supper in the church fellowship hall, followed by the worship service.

Women across the country will gather to participate in this worship service based on the theme "Piecing Earth Together." The logo shows the Genesis creation story depicted as a quilt, reminding of the environment's broken nature, and the need to repair the earth so it can provide.

Local church representatives who will lead the service include: Mary Lou Sanders, Hampshire Colony Congregational, program chairman; Madeleine Robinson, St. Louis Catholic; Barb Miller, St. Matthew's Lutheran; Pauline Olinger, First Christian; Joann Johnson, First Lutheran; Jean Gewin, First United Methodist; Barb Ollila, Open Prairie United Church of Christ; Betty Ann Losey, Evangelical Covenant; and June Larson, First Presbyterian.
