Some delays occurred on U.S. 6 near Utica this week as contractors prepared for a resurfacing project. But expect major delays starting next week between Utica and Ottawa, as a $2.8 million patching project commences Monday from the U.S. 6/Route 178 intersection to the west city limits of Ottawa. Illinois Department of Transportation announced late Friday that Advanced Asphalt of Princeton will have flaggers on the scene, with daytime lane closures taking place.

Work at the U.S. 6/Route 178 intersection is expected to last up to a week, according to IDOT.
